Giada at DSE
Giada, a leading developer and manufacturer of embedded PC and motherboards, servers and storage appliances, showcased media players supporting smart digital signage at booth 1950 during the annual Digital Signage Expo (DSE) held in Las Vegas through March 28th-29th. The media players on display included media players for smart storefronts, reliable video walls, interactive kiosks&POS, and OPS& SDM modules.


DSE is the world's largest and longest running conference and trade show exclusively dedicated to showcasing innovative digital display and interactive technology solutions for customer and employee communications. DSE 2018 attracted more than 200 exhibitors and Giada participates in DSE annually.


Media players for smart storefronts
Giada demonstrated a cost-effective media player supporting smart storefront, VM23, at DSE. VM23, a cost-effective media player, supports current quad-core Intel Apollo Lake Celeron N3450 processor (TDP: 6 watts). The latest Intel HD500 graphics offer a maximum 4K/UHD resolution of 4096 x 2160. With a DP and an HDMI port, the player can control two monitors independently. Thanks to the fanless design and its slim dimensions of 116 mm x 107.2 mm x 30 mm, VM23 can be installed inconspicuously. The compact mini-PC is widely used as thin clients in cloud applications.

SDM Modules presented at Intel's booth
Giada, a close partner of Intel in the SDM program, presented two SDM modules following Intel’s new SDM specification and reference design at Intel's booth. The two modules are SDM Z8350, a smaller module (109×60mm) with an entry-level processor and SDM 7300U, a larger module (110×175mm) with a high performance processor. Using a SoC (System on Chip) processor, they can fit into the sleekest all-in-one designs as new displays get thinner and power-efficient performance becomes more critical.

The two SDM modules come without housing and are optimized for digital signage, public kiosks, professional monitors, point-of-sale, projectors, bedside terminals, hospitality, and more applications. They can be applied all around the retail industry, especially on visual retail and transactional and responsive retail. These SDM modules provides display suppliers with an All-in One solution and helps System Integrators and Independent Software Vendors in vertical markets.


Video-wall Solution
Besides the media players for smart retail and SDM/OPS modules, Giada also displayed media players for video wall, such as G330. When developing the new six-in-one Video Wall PC G330, Giada placed a great emphasis on three things: discrete, high-performance graphics, lean design and the possibility to operate the video wall PC round the clock. Thanks to the effective and quiet ventilation the PC player can run directly behind a video wall without impairing the video experience. Thus it is also ideal for operating the so-called "menu boards" that hang above the counter in fast food stands and is also suitable for shop windows, trade fair stands, information desks and event rooms. The heart of the G330 is the state-of-the-art and energy efficient Intel Core-i5-6500T (35W) together with full 4K display support.
